ROME
On 2nd June we're celebrating our Republic and for this reason we'd like to give our readers some tips for an unforgettable trip to Rome, our capital city and cradle of the Italian Republic.
A bit of history
Why this name, Rome?
It is still stated that Rome was so called from the name of a Trojan woman, called Roma.
Rome sees the origin of the Latin language and is also referred to as Caput Mundi or eternal city.
Furthermore, Rome is the center of Catholic
Christianity, hosting many buildings
related to Christianity. The oldest sacred
buildings for the Romans were the temples,
places where the Romans celebrated
their gods.
What is Rome famous for?
In Rome you can find ancient ruins, Renaissance ones, but also masterpieces of modern architecture and much more on
its 7 hills. It’s also one of the most beloved cities for film sets, and among its ancient art, world-famous churches and romantic cityscapes, it seems everyone knows Rome.
The Colosseum is the symbol of Rome in the world and the symbol of Romanism in
the world, but it’s also the city”s best-known
monument globally.
Typical Roman dish
Carbonara: the emblem of the city of Rome. The dish that best represents Roman tradition and cuisine is certainly carbonara. This dish is one of the tastiest in the world and certainly one of the symbols of Italian cuisine, which is why it has also been widely reinterpreted abroad.
